Awards

Congratulations to Brian Rooney for receiving the 2nd Annual Fairfax Firefighters Emerald Society Wesley Gerald Award.  Brian was not able to attend the St. Patrick's Parade this year to receive his award, but it was accepted on his behalf by the family of Wes Gerald.  Brian was selected for the award because of his efforts in obtaining apparatus for the parade.  Because of his assistance and dedication, the Emerald Society won 1st Place Adult Marching Group in 2009, awarded by D.C. St. Patrick's Parade Committee.

Mike Lee (left) was awarded the Fairfax Firefighters Emerald Society first Wesley Gerald Award.  Mike is the emerald societies Treasurer.  He works very hard tracking charitable contributions, operational cost, membership dues, applications, and event and vendor compensations.  Mike also volunteers his time as a member to the Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Departments Honor Guard.  Award presented by the Executive Board (left to right, President Dan Shaw, 2nd Vice President Mike Fischer, 1st Vice President Scott Kraut).
